Unused or expired medication can be turned in for safe disposal at Warsaw City Hall, 210 North 4th Street Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Needles or Syringes are not allowed.

There have been many questions as to whether the city is cancelling Halloween. We are not.
Trick-or-Treat hours in the City of Warsaw will be Saturday, October 31, from 4-7. We are extending the hours due to the cancellation of the costume contest.
We believe that trick-or-treating can be accomplished safely. Treats are individually wrapped and sealed. The outdoors allows for social distancing. Human beings are social animals, and traditions and rituals are important for psychological health and the overall well-being of the community.

Reminder: The date for water shut off for non payment of past due amount is Thursday, October 22 at 9:00 a.m. If water service is shut off, a $100 reconnect fee is charged.
If you are looking for a great gift for the baseball fan in your life, the WCC has something for you! It’s the official 2021 St. Louis Cardinals Calendar and we are taking orders now. Order by November 16th for delivery beginning early December just in time for Christmas! We are also offering Cubs Calendars this year! In a special promotion, the Cardinals are offering their calendars as a fund raiser and for each $16 calendar sold, they will give the WCC $7. The Cubs do not offer the fundraiser promotion so the Cubs calendars will be $20. The deadline to order calendars is November 16, 20. We can ship them for $18 or $23. The Warsaw Food Pantry is the second Wednesday of the month from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bott Community Center. Contact Karen Torbeck at 217-256-4438 or Stephanie Doyle at 217-430-3410
The St. Paul’s Church Food Pantry is held the third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For emergency request, call 217-575-0045.
The First Warsaw Presbyterian Church, 210 South 4th Street sponsors a “Blessing Box”, located on the north side of the church by the steps. We encourage those who need food or other sundries to come to the box and take what you need. Items will be added such as gloves, hats, socks, school supplies, etc. Please feel free to take what you need.
No leaf burning is to take place on any blacktop surface of any road or street with in the city. Leaves may be burned during daylight hours only when attended if there has been a rain within the past five (5) days, and if the wind is blowing less than 10 miles per hour. There is no leaf burning in the business district from Clay to Lafayette Streets. Please consider the elderly and those with allergy’s when burning. Please take care of your leaves by NOT raking in the curb or streets. There is no burning after dark.
There is No burning in burning barrels unless covered with screen or mesh
Nothing but LANDSCAPE waste can be burned, NO paper, or boxes, etc.
There is no burning at any time with in 25 feet of any property line.
Notice is hear by given that the office of Kathy Thompson, City Clerk Warsaw City Hall, 210 N 4th Street will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Beginning Monday, December 14, 2020 through Monday, December 21, 2020 for the purpose of accepting candidate petitions or certificates for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 6, 2021 for the following offices:
Mayor 4-year term
City Clerk 4- year term
City Treasurer 4-year term
Alderman Ward One 4-year term
Alderman Ward Two 4-year term
Alderman Ward Three 4-year term
Nomination papers, including a nominating petition, statement of candidacy, loyalty oath and statement of economic interest for candidates are available on after September 22, 2020
The city has been contacted about numerous dogs in violation of City Ordinance 612.
All dogs MUST have a valid city tag, which can be purchased at City Hall for $5.00 annually.
All dogs are required to be on a leash when leaving their property.
Dog owners found to be in violation of the ordinance are subject to fines. Loose dogs can be reported to the Hancock County Sheriff for dispatch of Animal Control officers.
A House Watch Request is available for those leaving town due to vacation, leaving for the winter, etc. Contact the Hancock County Sheriff Department at 217-357-2115. Forms are available at Warsaw City Hall.
Camping at Riverfront Park is open beginning May 29. Fees for camping can be paid at City Hall by calling 217-256-3214 or there is a drop box at the park. Remember to use social distancing per guidelines. Riverfront park is licensed by the Illinois Health Department.
