Hello Warsaw,
I truly hope everyone enjoyed last year’s show as much as we enjoyed putting it on. Some of the enhancements that we have made for this year’s show include almost doubling the amount of launching equipment we have so we can add more of the special effects everyone loves. We also doubled the wattage of the sound system for the event. All of these things were done at our expense so we can spend every penny of donated money on the fireworks themselves.
We would like to raise $5000 for this year’s show in order to make it even better than last year. Our fireworks display is 100% volunteer so every penny donated goes directly into fireworks for the show. We currently have $350 in the fireworks account and I would like to thank everyone that has already donated, but I am afraid a bit more will be required. Donations can be made at Warsaw City Hall or at the Hill Dodge Bank. We purchase the fireworks at the end of April to take advantage of early bird specials and this also allows the time needed to put the show together.
Volunteers are severely needed as well. Due to military deployment we are losing one of our most reliable members for this year. And with such a small crew that makes a huge impact on us.
There is a ton of work that goes into show prep and setting up, ranging from putting up barricades, building props, to helping wire the fireworks to the shooter modules and about everything in between. And fireworks tend to be a bit messy so there is a ton of cleanup the next day. If someone has a pull behind yard vac or rake that would be outstanding. 80% of the prep for the show is done in advance at my shop though.
Thank you in advance,
Thomas Bell and the Thump Junkie Pyro Crew
