Food Pantry Needs

The Warsaw Township Food Pantry wishes to thank all the people who have donated food and or money to the Food Pantry.  Sincere thanks also to those who volunteer and help on the give away day.  The Food Pantry distributes food every second Wednesday of the month between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the Bott Community Center, 705 Lafayette Street. The St Paul’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry, 240 South 4th Street,  is held the third Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for 2020. The exceptions to this are April 11, (2nd Saturday) and June 6 (1st Saturday). For emergency requests, please call 217-575-0045. We deliver to those who are homebound or who cannot carry the food box.

 

The First Warsaw Presbyterian Church,  210 South 4th Street sponsors a Blessing Box located on the north side of the church by the steps.  Please feel free to take what you need.


Medication Drop Off

This is a reminder, unused or expired medication can be disposed of at Warsaw City Hall, 210 North 4th Street Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. No syringes are allowed.


Warsaw Public Library

The Warsaw Public Library monthly book club is held the first Monday of each month.  Everyone is welcome!  Please stop in to get a copy of each month’s selection.  If you have questions, fell free to call 217-256-3417.

The Warsaw Public Library is having a huge book sale!  Mostly adult fiction and some children’s books.  All books are only .25.  Books are added daily.


Warsaw Water Bill Payments

The City of Warsaw Water Department is accepting debit/credit cards along with on line water bill payments.  A payment service fee is added by the Utility Bill Company pending the balance of your bill.  Go to the following address to set up your account https://warsawillinois.azurewebsites.net/  Water bill shut off date is February 20 for residence who are 2 months late on water bill payments.


Dog Licenses and UTV/Golf Cart/ATV Licenses

2020 UTV/Golf Cart  Registration Renewals are available to purchase at Warsaw City Hall, 210 North 4th Street. The cost to renew licenses are $40. Copies of renewal insurance cards and driver licenses are needed for file also.  AVT registrations are available at City Hall.  Copies of insurance cards and drivers license is required.

2020 Dog Licenses are available at Warsaw City Hall, 210 North 4th Street.  The costs for a dog license is $5.00.

Reminder to report a dog running at large, a nuisance violation, or any other police business to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department at 217-357-2115. An officer will respond to the report.


Peddlers License

It is unlawful for any peddler, solicitor or transient merchant to engage in any such businesses with the City without first obtaining a license.  Applicants for a license shall file with the City Clerk a sworn application in writing, furnished by the City Clerk.  Upon receipt of the application, it shall be referred to the law enforcement officer for background checks. If a solicitor knocks on your door, ask them if they have a Peddler’s License for the goods they are selling.  If they do not have a license, contact City Hall, 217-256-3214, or the Hancock County Sheriff Department 217-357-2115.
