Roadwork Update

We would like to extend a big “Thank You” to the Public Works team for all of the hard work and extra hours put in to getting roads completed in August. We also want to thank all of the impacted residents for their patience and understanding during the closures.

The following roads received new oil and chip surfaces in August: Mulberry Street, Cemetery Road, Francis Sartory Road, Mill Street and Liberty Drive.


Warsaw Water Department

We are updating all of the information on the water accounts. Please complete and return the contact update card included with your bill.

Online water bill payments can be made for a fee at:  https://warsawillinois.azurewebsites.net/

Accounts that are 2 month behind are subject o shutoff. Shutoffs will be done per the notice. Past due amounts MUST be paid in full to reconnect service.


Dog Ownership

The city has been contacted about numerous dogs in violation of City Ordinance 612.

All dogs MUST have a valid city tag, which can be purchased at City Hall for $5.00 annually.

All dogs are required to be on a leash when leaving their property.

Dog owners found to be in violation of the ordinance are subject to fines. Loose dogs can be reported to the Hancock County Sheriff for dispatch of Animal Control officers.


House Watch Request

A House Watch Request  is available for those leaving town due to vacation, leaving for the winter, etc. Contact the Hancock County Sheriff Department at 217-357-2115. Forms are available at Warsaw City Hall.


Food Pantry Needs

The Warsaw Township Food Pantry distributes food every second Wednesday of the month between 9 am and 10 am to those living in the Warsaw school district at the Bott Community Center. For more information contact Karen Torbeck at 217-256-4438, Stephanie Doyle at 217-440-3410 or the Township Office at 217-256-4593.

The St Paul’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry, 240 S 4th Street alley side of church is held the third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The exception to this is June 6 (1st Saturday). For emergency requests, please call 217-575-0045. We deliver to those who are homebound or cannot carry the food.

The First Warsaw Presbyterian Church, 210 South 4th Street sponsors a Blessing Box located on the north side of the church by the steps. Please feel free to take what you need.


Riverfront Camping

Camping at Riverfront Park is open beginning May 29. Fees for camping can be paid at City Hall by calling 217-256-3214 or there is a drop box at the park. Remember to use social distancing per guidelines. Riverfront park is licensed by the Illinois Health Department.
